1. Scope
This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") applies to all paid subscriptions and purchases made on the Zelfium platform, including Pro (monthly and annual) and Enterprise plans. This Policy forms part of, and should be read in conjunction with, our Terms of Service (Section 7 — Fees, Billing & Cancellation).
By subscribing to any paid plan, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Policy.
2. Free Tier
The Free tier does not require any payment information and carries no refund implications. Users on the Free tier may access the platform at no cost, subject to the feature limitations described in our Terms of Service.
Paid subscribers may downgrade to the Free tier at any time. Upon downgrading, access to paid features will continue until the end of the current billing period, after which the account will revert to Free tier functionality.
3. Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time before the next billing date. Upon cancellation:
- Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.
- No partial refunds are issued for the unused portion of the current month.
- No refunds are issued for billing periods that have already been charged.
Your subscription will not auto-renew after cancellation, and you will not be charged for any subsequent period.
4. Annual Subscriptions
4.1 Cancellation Within the First 30 Days
If you cancel an annual subscription within 30 calendar days of the initial purchase date, you are eligible for a pro-rata refund based on the number of unused full calendar months remaining in the subscription period.
Example: If you purchased an annual plan and cancel after 3 months of use, with 9 full months remaining, the refund is calculated as: (9 ÷ 12) × annual fee.
4.2 Cancellation After 30 Days
If you cancel an annual subscription after the first 30 calendar days, no refund will be issued. However, your access to paid features will continue until the end of the annual subscription period.
5. EU Consumer Rights (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), consumers residing in the European Union or European Economic Area (EEA) have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase, without giving any reason.
However, if you have accessed digital content (including using platform features, generating personality profiles, or engaging with AI-powered tools) during the 14-day period with your explicit prior consent and acknowledgment that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, the right of withdrawal may be waived in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Directive.
If you are eligible and exercise your right of withdrawal, a full refund will be issued within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal request, using the same payment method as the original transaction.

6. Japan Consumer Protection
Zelfium Inc. is incorporated in Tokyo, Japan, and complies with all applicable Japanese consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Contract Act (消費者契約法).
- Cancellation requests from Japanese consumers are processed in accordance with the Consumer Contract Act and other applicable consumer protection legislation.
- Any contract terms deemed unfair (不当条項) under the Consumer Contract Act shall be unenforceable to the extent required by law.
- For information required under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (特定商取引法), please refer to our Specified Commercial Transactions Act Disclosure.
7. How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription using either of the following methods:
7.1 Via Account Settings
Navigate to Settings → Subscription → Cancel within the Zelfium platform. Your cancellation will take effect immediately, and access will continue until the end of the current billing period.
7.2 Via Email
Send an email to contact@zelfium.com with the subject line "Cancellation Request." Please include the following information:
- The email address associated with your Zelfium account
- Reason for cancellation (optional, but appreciated for service improvement)
A cancellation confirmation will be sent to your registered email address within 2 business days.
8. Refund Processing
- All refunds are processed via the original payment method through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
- Processing time is typically 5–10 business days, depending on your card issuer or financial institution.
- Refunds are issued in the original currency of payment. Exchange rate fluctuations may affect the final amount received.
- Partial refunds (for annual subscriptions cancelled within 30 days) are calculated on a calendar month basis. Partially used months are counted as full months.
